The following is an exerpt from a lady in her fifties, whose husband's business went under in 2011, so that after years of working, raising kids, and building toward a retirement, the plans to relax in their latter years were devastated.
"Hi, how are you guys doing? I have been thinking about you a lot and hope all is going well. I don’t know if you have heard that we are getting ready to move. We have rented out our home and have taken a job at as camp hosts. Dave will stay at his real job with the building company, and I will be putting in 20 hours a week at the lake. In return for my labor we can stay there for free and there is no time limit. We had to go into debt to make this work because we had to buy a new fifth wheel RV to live in. We needed a large one as we hope to do this for 4 or 5 years, by then we should be over the risk of losing our home. This is a huge change for us but we have been planning this for about six months and are now looking forward to the change.
How are things going for you guys? It sounds like the economy might be getting stronger finally!!!! Then we could all get back on our feet again. Hope this finds you well and happy and if you get a chance I would love to hear from you. Your friend, Susan."
These people did nothing other than work hard their entire adult lives, and deserved better, but nonetheless got knocked down, and faced the question of what to do. In the end, they realized that they had only one real choice...Keep Battlin'.
